新加坡六合彩官方网站 University will host a lecture series throughout the spring 2023 semester. Presentations will take place on 新加坡六合彩官方网站鈥檚 campus. Presentations are free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are required.

The events for 新加坡六合彩官方网站's Spring Lecture Series are as follows.

January 31, 7:30 p.m. | Thomas W. Ewing Lecture
Sami Steigmann新加坡六合彩官方网站 University is pleased to welcome Holocaust Survivor  for a presentation on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bob and Debi Johnston Banquet Rooms located on the third floor of the University Commons. Made possible by the Thomas W. Ewing Lecture Fund, Sami Steigmann鈥檚 presentation is titled 鈥淗olocaust: My Story of Resilience.鈥

                                                                                     
As a Holocaust Survivor who lives to tell his invaluable experiences, Steigmann shares his fresh perspective on hope, life, faith and how he was able to transform himself from a victim into a speaker and agent for social action. Steigmann is dedicated to reaching as many young people as possible to promote tolerance and in hopes that they will make it a better world for themselves, their children and their grandchildren.

 

February 13, 7:00 p.m. | Black History Month Celebration

On Monday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. 新加坡六合彩官方网站 University welcomes  part of the University鈥檚 Black History Month Celebration. Dr. Okello鈥檚 presentation is titled 鈥淟et justice roll down like waters: A commemorative program for Black History Month,鈥 and will take place in Kirkland Fine Arts Center.

Dr. Okello is a spoken word artist who believes in the power of storytelling and spoken word poetry as a platform for education, liberation and resilience. In the presentation, Okello will reinforce the fact that your presence, position and voice are equal in both legitimacy and importance. 

 

March 1, 7:00 p.m. | Moore Lecture, Women鈥檚 History Month

Amanda Lucidon新加坡六合彩官方网站 University is pleased to welcome  on Wednesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. in the Bob and Debi Johntotn Banquet Rooms located on the third floor of the University Commons as part of the University鈥檚 Women鈥檚 History Month Celebration. Lucidon鈥檚 presentation is titled 鈥淐hasing Light鈥.

Lucidon was the Official White House Photographer to the Obamasand is an award-winning filmmaker and New York Times bestselling author. A collection of Lucidon'simages of the First Lady, 鈥淐hasing Light,鈥 was released in 2017. Shewill speak about her time working for one of the most politically significant presidential administrations in recent history and what photographers can reveal through their work.

 

March 29, 7:00 p.m. | Civic Discourse Week

 Jonathan Mooney新加坡六合彩官方网站 University鈥檚 featured speaker during Civic Discourse Week is . Mooney鈥檚 presentation is titled 鈥淟earning Outside the Lines,鈥 and takes place on Wednesday, March 29 at 7 p.m.in Kirkland Fine Arts Center.

Mooney faced a number of low expectations growing up and did not learn to read until he was twelve years old. Now an award-winning writer, entrepreneur and activist, he brings awareness to disability and neurodivergence and the potential within us all.
