Specialized Accreditation and Licensure
In addition to being accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, several programs hold discipline-specific accreditations or prepare our students for post-graduation licensure. Programs at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ University have been designed to meet licensure requirements within the State of Illinois.
мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ University has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). This permits мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ to offer distance learning programs and coursework to residents of states other than Illinois. NC-SARA membership, however, does not grant reciprocity or exempt students from state professional licensing requirements in other states. As each state has its own licensure requirements, students seeking licensure within other states should contact the licensing authorities within that state prior to enrolling in that academic program; links have been provided below when applicable.

- The мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ Athletic Training Program
- Housed within the School of Exercise Science & Sport within the College of Professional Studies, the Athletic Training Program is accredited by the . The Athletic Training Program received initial accreditation in 2002. A recent mandate from the Strategic Alliance (NATA, CAATE, BOC) requires the entry-level degree into the athletic training profession to be at the master's level. As a result, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ University has voluntarily withdrawn accreditation and is no longer accepting new students or transfer students for the baccalaureate program in Athletic Training. The date of voluntary withdrawal of accreditation is August 2022, which allows all students currently enrolled in the professional program to graduate and maintain eligibility for BOC certification. We anticipate the start of the new Master of Science in Athletic Training Program August 22, 2022.

- The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master's degree program in nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ().

- The School of Education offers 12 majors that lead to teacher licensure: Art Education (Specialist K-12), Biology Education (Grades 9-12), Elementary Education (Grades 1-6), English Education (Grades 9-12), Mathematics Education (Grades 9-12), Music Education (Specialist K-12), Physical Education (Specialist K-12), Social Science Education (Grades 9-12), and Spanish Education (Specialist K-12).
- The School of Education also offers three endorsements, which you may add to your choice of teacher licensure program: Bilingual Education (Pre K-Grade 12), English as a Second Language (Pre K-Grade 12), and Special Education (valid for the grade range of the Professional Educator License).
- мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ offers licensure-only programs for students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree, which provide the coursework and field experiences required for teacher licensure in the State of Illinois. Required professional education coursework for elementary education licensure-only programs is offered through evening courses in the Flexible Learning format. The courses required to complete Secondary Education and K-12 Specialist licensure-only programs are offered through a combination of traditional daytime courses and Flexible Learning evening courses.

o While the courses required within the Accounting program fulfill the curricular requirements to sit for the CPA, earning CPA licensure is not part of the degree program. To sit for the CPA licensing exam, an additional 26 credits is required beyond the 124 credits required for a degree from мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾.
